Holy Week Musings
Today is Palm Sunday, the first day of Holy Week, a time during which Christians remember the Passion of their Lord Jesus Christ. It takes place during the last week of lent, and it is a time to reflect on how Jesus Christ became the Sacrificial Lamb when he gave up his life on the cross for the sins of humanity… the atonement. The last day of this week long observance is Holy Saturday, when the Paschal Vigil takes place, after which Resurrection Sunday (Easter) is celebrated. Anyway, although not all my pieces are reflective of this most important holiday in the life of the Church, they do reflect the Lord's love and glory. I hope you enjoy them!

I love your beautiful mixed media tag for Holy Week, Arnoldo. I wish you a very happy celebration on the day we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus! Last Sunday in church, we learnt that things would have gone badly wrong if the donkey had thought all that adulation was for him, and that we should all be in "donkey mode" - not looking for our own glory but remembering that we are all "Christ-bearers" and that when people look at us, they should see Jesus! Now that's quite a challenge, wouldn't you agree?
ReplyDeleteI love your donkey drawing. In view of what I've just written, maybe this is a self-portrait lol lol!!!!
Thank you for your visit and your lovely comment - I'm so glad you like my recent efforts. I have knitted all my life and in adulthood discovered the joy of working with different colours, which is my favourite style! As for the card, I am pleased with how it turned out, despite a slight crisis of confidence midway when I thought I didn't really like it! However, some time, and several layers later, and I was happy with it, and keen to use this technique again in the future.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #46
These are all very interesting pieces, and it's good to see something about Easter, rather than Easter Eggs and bunnies.

Arnoldo...thank you so much for your very kind words you left regarding my upcoming classes. I just got back last night from a week long cruise out of Houston. Twelve hour drive home and made it in time for Easter ! :) your Easter tag is beautiful. I also love your donkey sketch and your blog writings. Sing hallelujah and praises to our risen Savior! Easter blessings to you and yours. Candy
ReplyDeleteVery nice project. The style is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm finally catching up with your posts. My favourite of these projects is your donkey sketch - it just has so much character & is so right for this time of year. The tag is a very close second with its Cltic drown design forming the backdrop for your beautifully constructed cross. Amazing how those spindly grey pine needle die-cuts are so evocative of the crown of thorns. I think I have to change my mind & settle on that as my favourite project of yours in this post.
