Summer is here, and I couldn't be happier! I plan to take time to create, smell the roses, and be on the road. The latter should allow me to recharge, so that I may undertake all the tasks the Lord sets for me during the Fall.

Rather it's drawing, painting, decorating, working on paper crafts, or any other artsy activity, this Summer I plan to work on something creative every single day. Today, I worked on the tag above, in which I lettered my affirmation for the Summer. It felt so good to play with colors, textures, and lines! Next on my list is finishing a painting of Father Joseph and Jesus which I started last Summer. It sounds like an appropriate piece to work on, considering Father's Day is this coming weekend!

I also plan to spend more time with family, read, and exercise on a daily basis. I got to visit with a lot of family during the weekend, as we celebrated my wife's birthday and my youngest daughter's high school graduation. It was exhausting, but we had a lot of fun and made great memories too. I also got to catch-up on a couple of books, walk, and take some laps in our swimming pool during the last couple of days. I hope I can keep it up, since it was both relaxing and re-energizing!

Finally, I plan to be on the road around the great state of Texas. During July, my family and I will be driving to the Dallas-Ft. Worth Area to visit my mother. We will also be driving to the airport to greet my oldest daughter, who will be flying in from Barcelona, Spain. After that, we'll be driving to College Station, to move my youngest daughter, who will be joining her older sister at Texas A&M University. It is bound to be bitter-sweet, since we're VERY proud of them, but we'll become empty nesters.
Well, that brings me to the end of my Summer plans. I want to thank everyone who took the time to leave a comment on my last post, as well as greet all my faithful followers. Here's to a blessed Summer!
