How Much Faith Is Needed
Hello, my friends! ¡Hola, amigos mios! It was a very productive, yet relatively quiet week for me. My wife is away with my youngest daughter, helping care for our grandsons, so I'm home alone with our dogs and cats. I miss her, but she FaceTimes me daily, so I get to visit with my grandsons too!

I want to begin by sharing a portrait I did of Magnolia (aka Maggie), my youngest daughter and her husband's dog. She was a Weimaraner they adopted from a rescue, when she was about 3 years old. She was a sweet, beautiful, and obedient dog who loved to snuggle with her parents, go on walks, and would always wait patiently for a scrap of food from the table. Sadly, she got lung cancer, and did not survive. I did the portrait about a year after they got her, but had forgotten about it. After her passing this past week, I matted it and gifted it to them. She will be missed dearly.

Next, I have a card I made for my youngest daughter's upcoming birthday. I used a picture of her 2 boys that I did with my Phomemo Mini Printer as my focal point, inside a Sunnykid Picture Slide die cut. I used a We R Memory Keepers banner punch, a Marvy Uchida oval punch, Viviquen Boho Scrapbook Paper, Emmoolife Washi Tape, Bomichi Quote Stickers, Cousin Corporation Eyelets, and assorted pens. I hope she likes it!

Wow! Maggie is drawn so well. You captured the eyes perfectly. and the ears and the nose. Hmmm you know the whole thing. LOL Well done my friend. Of course I love the Día de los Muertos Mixed Media Collages. I know you would rather be with the girls and new baby but sometimes it's nice to have some time alone. Thank you for joining FFO.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet portrait. Love all your dod cards
ReplyDeleteHi Arnoldo, love the drawing of Maggie. It's always a happy and sad reminder when you find something like that which you may have forgotten about. Dogs are so much party of our lives that we miss them so much when they're gone. Loving the collage too. Hoipe the sermon went well too. Thanks for the comment overt at mine too. The follow up from the start of the journal page will be on my blog tomorrow. Angela x
ReplyDeleteLove ethe expression in Maggie’s eyes. Your daughter must have been very pleased to have it as a reminder. Thank you for your visit. Angela

ReplyDeleteWow -- you have such a gift for animal portraiture. It's so hard to get the essence of the animal but without seeing or knowing Maggie, it "feels" as though you found that very spirit. I'm so sorry for your daughter and her family that Maggie passed. Your other art made me smile, filled with glorious color! Thanks for visiting me at Marmelade Gypsy from Friday Face-Off, too!
