Siblings In Christ
Hello! ¡Hola! I'm having a busy weekend, so I decided to post early.
| Greetings from Galveston, Texas Word Art Wednesday Weeks #724-725 What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 857-77 |
First of all, I have a photograph of my oldest Grandson Elby and me, during a recent family gathering we had in Galveston, Texas. This is his second time going to the beach, and as a toddler, he loved it. I felt this week's Word Art fit perfectly, as we rejoiced, and I pray that he grows up to be a Godly man.

| Icon of St. Andrew Face Of Friday 11/7/25 Thursday Art & Dinner Date - November Rain Saturday's Critters #621 |
For my last project, I have an icon of St. Andrew, that I wrote on handmade paper, using acrylic paints. I'm giving it to the parish members at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, in Brackettville, Texas, where I serve as their supply priest twice a month. St. Andrew is one of the twelve apostles of Jesus and the brother of Peter. He was a fisherman by trade, and Jesus made him a fisher of men. He's the patron saint of Scotland, Greece, and Russia, and his feast day is celebrated on November 30. The X-shaped cross in the background is associated with his martyrdom.
In closing, I'd like to leave you with a summary of my sermon for this Sunday, based on Luke 20:27-38:
We were made by God to have a loving relationship with him, as well as with all our siblings in Christ. However, shattered, broken, and dead relationships can easily separate us from God's plan. In our Baptismal Covenant, we vow to resit evil, and whenever we fall into sin, to repent and return to the Lord. So, what is sin? As defined in Catechism, “Sin is the seeking of our own will instead of the will of God.” Consequently, through sinful behaviors, we move ourselves away from whom God created us to be, into a state of separation from God's life and love. The ultimate sign of sin, is death. Thank goodness for God’s unconditional love, mercy, and continuous call to life. All we have to do is repent, to experience the grace, life, and love that can only be found in God.
Thanks for your visit. Gracias por su visita. Shalom!
