L is for Lighthearted

Merriam-Webster.com defines the word "lighthearted" as "free from care, anxiety, or seriousness" or as "cheerfully optimistic and hopeful."  The second definition applies to the way I choose to look at life.  I am a caring person and take everything aspect of my life very seriously.  However, even though I get stressed at times by negative issues in life, I make a conscious effort to focus on the positive.  It's not always easy and will gripe at times, but I don't dwell on the negative.  Instead, I find comfort in my family, my artwork, and especially my Lord Jesus Christ.  Eventually things always get better, or at least bearable.  Therefore, I've dedicated my artwork this week to three pieces of advice that have helped me stay lighthearted throughout life:

Nature Observations Tag
Tim Holtz Inks, Stencil, Stamps, Remnant Rubs, and Die Cuts
Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2014 - September
Gingerbread Kids Dual-tag
Martha Stewart Papers & Stamp; K&Company Papers; & Tim Holtz Die
Tag Tuesday - Fairytale
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Stencils & Stamps
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Live life to it's fullest.

Lighthearted Fall Sketch
Sharpie Micron Pens
Moo-Mania - Autumnal Coloring (Too Come)
Dion's Friday Sketches
Alexandra's Sunday Sketches
Denise, Roger, & Leslie's ABC Wednesday - L is for Lighthearted
Eva & Kristin's Paint Party Friday - Week 30 Year 4
Laugh as often as you can.

Ana's Texas A&M Ring Ceremony
Cropped iPhone Shot
Bella's 52 Photo Project - Star
A&M Festivities Smash Book Pages
Photographs, Ephemera, Die Cut, and More
Manon's Paper Saturdays
Lou Anne's Inspiration Avenue: Monthly Show & Tell
Ramona's Inspire Me Monday #143
Julia's What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #278
Karen's Word Art Wednesday #152
Love as there is no tomorrow.

In closing, please accept my apologies for not posting in 3 weeks, but I've been very busy.  Thank you for your thoughtful comments during my last post, as well as for following my blog.  Blessings!

I love that tag with those colorful butterflies and the gingerbread kids are just too cute. The fall sketch is amazing. I tried to draw a pumpkin last month, it looked OK, but when I tried to paint it with brushes I totally messed it up. I would love to see it if you finish it.

Humble yourself, how I love that scripture. These pages span quite a period of time. I remember as a young girl my thoughts on flying. I had some fond memories surface when I saw the stamp. Thank you for posting your smash book art with us this week during our 152nd challenge at Word Art Wednesday. Hoping you have a fine, fun day, full of glorious giggles, with buckets of blessings from Heaven as you work, and play.

What great advice for a happy and contented life, Arnoldo, and how beautifully depicted in your art work too! I think I am very similar in temperament to you, but there are times in life when things just seem to get a bit overwhelming and one starts to worry (the opposite of faith!) and it takes a conscious effort to get one's focus back on the Lord Jesus who tells us not to worry, and that He who supplies the needs of the least of His creatures will certainly take care of His children!

Thank you for your lovely and encouraging comment - I am so glad you enjoyed my Zentangle/teabag art video. I can't wait to take the whole teabag art thing further but that's a job for the new year as I've got to finish a long-standing project first. So may lovely things to explore and experiment with, and as I said last night at my felt class, "I am never happier than when I am making something"!

Re the masterboards - nothing new under the sun, I suppose! Masterboard - collaged backgrounds - what's in a name? They are fun and useful, that's for sure.

Thank you for your good wishes regarding our health. I don't really mind if I have to go back on the iron as it does have the effect of improving my colitis symptoms as a side-effect. My hubby has been very careful with his diet and hopefully he will be able to stave off diabetes for a while, if not permanently. We are so grateful for our health service which keeps an eye on such things for us!

Many blessings to you,
Shoshi

Hello Arnoldo. Thanks for visiting and for your comments. I love that butterfly tag - the colours are gorgeous. Those little mice eyeing up that pumpkin are really sweet.
Your thoughts on living life to the full rang home - we were once told that we made a great adventure out of living and everything we did - which I think was an enormous compliment. Certainly, this year, with John's health being so very poor, it has been so important to endeavour to stay close to Jesus, and have Him see us through everything! We have struggled - but He has gone before and has given us the strength to find a contentment in the year.
Take care. God bless.

Wonderful artwork and life perspective. I too live by, faith, love and laughter! I live with a positive mindset, but at times a bit of negative slips in and I brush it away as soon a possible! Negative energy is such a drain compared to the positive!!
Thanks for sharing the fall sketch it's so special!

Hello Arnoldo, great to see you back making and showing your art. Thanks for reminding us of what is important in life, if only we could all love one another. We are all so lucky with our loving and caring art-blogging community.
Loved seeing your art, I especially like the coloured butterflies and the Gingerbread tags.
I agree with your philosophy of life! Nice art projects! I think they express that philosophy to the T.

How inspiring. I love those cut out butterflies--you've caught joy there.

Thank you for the inspiring remarks about living life to the fullest. There was an accident involving the grandson of one of our closest friends. The little boy fell. The memorial was Saturday--the message was, Live life to the fullest.

The Shepherd came to give life--not just living--but abundant life. That is what I'm hanging onto this week.

Thanks for the reminder - this was a bit of a gripe week (just on the inside) because I couldn't do much due to an infection on my foot. Love your tags and that sketch has such beautiful detail. Your caring heart is very evident and that is the most important kingdom work we are called to.

Must say, your reminder to not dwell on the negative really hit home today for me with all the horrible news on the tv. I stopped and said prayers for those suffering and feel better. I try to be possible but find the media really bombards you from all angles now.

Your tags are wonderful. Love those butterflies. I have the TH gingerbread die, but never thought to dress him/her up. Love what you did!

Have a fabulous weekend.
