P is for Pleasantries

Since I don't have any serious topic to present, I'll just share some pleasantries - LOL!  I had an extremely stressful week, so I'm kind of brain dead.  It won't get better anytime soon, since in addition to work and my postgraduate studies, I have short trips during each of the following 4 weeks - Yikes!

A Rich Man
Original Ink & Pastel Illustration With Calligraphy
Art Journal Journey - April {Favorite Quote}
Piarom's Mix It Monthly - April {City}
Alexandra's Sunday Sketches
Julie's Art Journal Everyday
Ramona's Inspire Me Monday #173
Julia's What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #308
Kristin & Eva's Paint Party Friday - Week 8 Year 5
Anyway, Kristina Werner used this anonymous quote recently to model brush lettering, and I LOVED IT.  I can relate to the quote both as a father and an educator.  I may not be financially wealthy, but children do make me feel like a rich man.

Happy Birthday, Patty!
Die Cuts, Jute Cording & Hand Lettering
Freshly Made Sketches #183
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Clean & Simple
Karen's Word Art Wednesday #181
This week we celebrated a colleague's birthday, so I decided to make her a quick birthday card.  She loved it, and so did my other colleagues.  The problem is that they all want me to make them one for their upcoming birthdays too - LOL!

School Secretary's Day!
Tim Holtz Die Cuts, Ribboned Paperclip, Flowers & Hand Lettering
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Due Date
I made sugar cookies for my school's secretaries and attached ATC-tags to the gift bags.  They're a diligent group, who greet everyone with a smile, regardless of all the due dates they need to meet.  They love my artwork, but were impressed that I could bake as well, so I confessed they were made from frozen dough - LOL!

Art Studio Green Eyed Girl
iPhone 4S Photograph
Sue's Image-in-ing
Denise, Roger & Leslie's ABC Wednesday - P is for Pussycat
Bella's 52 Photo Project - Gallery 52 {Like Silk}
In closing, I'll leave you with a shot of my sweet and silky tortoise coated cat lounging in my art studio - LOL!  Thank you for your visit, and be assured that I'll reciprocate if you leave a comment.  Blessings!

I'm sorry you've had a rough week, Arnoldo. I do hope it gets better despite all of the traveling you have going on in between work and such. Thank you for taking time out to share with us your lovely pieces of art this week. Lifting you up. :)

Beautiful work! The quote about the rich man really spoke to me. Recently, a much younger coworker was worried about the expenses of raising his young child. I told him to pack a peanut butter sandwich and take the child to the park for the afternoon and the child wouldn't care if they were rich or not. I really hope he took my advice.

Enough babbling! I have enjoyed visiting your blog this evening. Thank you so much for sharing with us for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

A gift is lovely, and if you're pressed for time, frozen dough is so much better than any excuse about not making time! Dont you find that being under a time pressure releases your creative mind and you end up with a yearning to be at your desk creating with all of these ideas that you simply can't make time for? !!

I think that frozen cookie dough is just fine,as I'm sure your recipients did....waaay nicer than any explanations about not having enough time. Good for you.

Pleasantries is such a cute word and I saw it for the first time and had to look for it in the dictionary. Your pleasantries are great! I love the ATC-tags and cookie packs you made for your school's secretaries. Oh they would make me so happy too :) best wishes for the forthcoming 4 weeks! Have safe journeys and may your brain recover very soon!

Lovely cards! You've done it now.... you'll have to make cards for all of them!
It's nice that you made a tag for the secretary. They work so hard and often get forgotten.
Thanks for visiting,
Have a good week,
Lisca

You are a rich man, in soul, character, and spirit. Your children, both your own and ones you teach are blessed to have your love and influence in their life!! Your intention is always good and that is known whether you make cookies from scratch or not... You have a good heart and make beautiful art... You my dear man....are a RICH man beyond measure!

Hugs Giggles
Great pieces. Even though you are feeling brain dead and have been busy, you still managed to be a little creative. Hope that takes off some of the stress!

Arnoldo, Congrats for being in the spotlight at Inspire Me Monday. I always enjoy my visits to your place. You seem like such a sweet, sensitive, & talented man. I mean, you're an artist and cookie baker? No wonder you had the secretaries giddy. Your b-day card to your colleague is beautiful and elegant. No wonder everyone else is wanting their own. I think a parent, male or female, feels wealthy when greeted by small ones. I remember when ours were young and the joy that filled my heart when they come running with tiny wide open arms to wrap around my neck. Gosh, I miss those days! Have artastic day!
Such a fabulous and creative card, Arnoldo. It's always a blessing to have you share with us, and I thank you so very much.
