Y is for Yearnings

In my humble opinion, "Yearnings" are what keeps a person thriving in life.  Without personal yearnings, I believe a person can go into deep stages of depression, age, and possibly even die.  As a husband, parent, teacher, artist, and writer, I have a plethora of yearnings that keep me going on a daily basis.  I yearn to make a better life for my family.  I yearn to meet my students' needs.  I yearn to improve my problem solving and creative skills on a daily basis.  As I was researching the theme of yearnings for this post, I ran across 3 quotes that truly spoke to me: one as an introvert, one as an intuitive person, and one as a spiritual person.

Mother's Wisdom
Commissioned Watercolor Portrait
Kim's Art It Friday - Show Your Face
Piarom's Mix It Monthly - The Facial Profile
Kristin and Eva's Paint Party Friday - Week 17 Year 5
Goat Hearding (Work In Progress)
Commissioned Pastel Painting
Alexandra's Sunday Sketches
As an introvert, I relate to Albert Einstein's quote, "Be a loner.  That gives you time to wonder, to search for the truth.  Have holy curiosity.  Make your life worth living."

Smash Folio Pages
Photographs, Hand Lettering, Smash Envelope,  Ephemera, Tape, Scraps, and More
Ramona' Inspire Me Monday #182
Lasting Memories Layout Challenges LM #248 - Together
Julia's What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 317
Karen's Word Art Wednesday #190
Maria's Orange You Glad It's Friday #149
As an intuitive person, I relate to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe quote, "Alas, that we should be so unwilling to listen to the still and holy yearnings of the heart!  A god whispers quite softly in our breast, softly yet audibly; telling us what we ought to seek and what to shun."

Summer Birthday Card
Hand Lettering, Tim Holtz Die Cuts, Alcohol Inks, K&Company Die, Button, and More
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Summer
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
CropStop Linky Party #5
Baby Ana
Digitalized Childhood Photograph
Bella's 52 Photo Project - {Lips}
As a spiritual person, I relate to the Scriptural verse found in Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

Toto
iPhone 4S Photograph
Eileeen's Saturday Critters #80
Sue's Image-in-ing
Denise, Roger and Leslie's ABC Wednesday - Y is for Young Dog
I want to dedicate this post to my daughter Ana, who is celebrating her birthday this weekend.  Thank you for visiting and taking the time to leave such thoughtful comments on my blog every week.  Blessings!

Your 'humble' opnion says the same about yearings as i do ...

I think YOU are correct about yearnings!

Happy birthday to Ana!
Thank you for this beautiful thought about yearnings. Sometimes life is bleak and without any possibilities and hope, then it is great to remember one of the Psalms in the bible. Thank you for writing this.
Have a wonderful time with the family!

I really enjoyed your post today. I loved the artwork and your flash folios. But most of all the quotes. I loved all three because I am like you an introvert, an intuitive and a spiritual person.
So thank you for making my day with your inspirational post.
And thanks for visiting and commenting,
Yes, of course Serafino would be able to get a mask or buy some proper equipment, but he does it this way and he was done in a matter of minutes, so I don't think his health suffered as a consequence.... (The nurse in me was horrified though).
Have a great week,

Such an interesting post. Our yearnings can be so effectively explored and pursued through Art - either its creation or its study. I love the anthology of images and art work you have compiled here. xxx

Oooh yearnings, Arnoldo! The stuff of life! I have so many at the moment and not the energy to bring them to fruition lol!! Thank you for sharing the lovely quotes, and a happy birthday to Ana.

Thank you for your lovely comment and your good wishes for my treatment on Friday. I'm so glad you like my masterboard. It was great fun to do, and great to try out my new paints. The angels are progressing extremely slowly at present because I don't feel welll enough to do much, but hopefully after treatment #3 things won't be so bad.

Haooy birthday to your daughter! Like the quote of Einstein - he is so counter-culture (of today), but I like him because he did not have the pretense many intelligent people have today.
I'm always amazed when you post and find so many ways to link. Happy Birthday to your daughter. Your birthday card to her is beautiful and full of summery goodness. Thanks for visiting while I slept. Happy WOYWW from # 3.

Such wonderful thought and quotes as much as photos! She is a real cutie, haha! But I really love your profilpainting, you have caught the emotions in this so well! ♥ Conny Mix It Monthly
Yes I agree. There is something about yearning for something and being able to wonder about that yearning on your own that is wonderful. Take your own path. I find it difficult sometimes, sometimes it makes me feel very isolated and as though I am missing something important. but most of the time it is wonderful. Enjoyed reading your post today. It really got me thinking.
