Peace and Love

Good day!  ¡Buen Día!   It's such a blessing to be able to blog again this weekend, as it's been a hectic week for me.

Sunday Postcard - Peace
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes w/Optional Twist Lots of Leaves
WOYWW 850/70

For my first featured project this week, I have a postcard I made today.  I was inspired by a verse in Paul's letter to the Romans 12:18, which reads, " If possible, so far as it depends on you, live in peace with everyone."  I used a Zig Letter Pen Cocoiro, Mont Marte Real Brush Pens, and Faber-Castell Gelatos for the lettering and doodling on a Kraft postcard.

For my second project this week, is a card I made for my wife's and my 34th Wedding Anniversary.  Using acrylic markers, I doodled a couple dancing around in a heart shaped wooden cutout tag.  Then, I strung it, added a bow, and attached it to a striped print background.  This was all nicely framed by my card.

We Love 2 Create - Challenge 9 Anything Goes
For my third project this week, I have a mixed media collage.  I incorporated a Japanese portrait I painted on Sumi paper using red Sumi paint.  I added an origami fish I made, a hand stamped image, and the print from a hand carved stamp I did with my last name in Katakana.  I finished my collage by writing the words A Un, derived from Sanskirit, meaning "the beginning and the end," using a Funcils Black Oil Paint Pen.

In closing, I'd like to leave you with the closing paragraph of my sermon this week, which was based on Luke 16:1-13:

The accounting of our management isn’t about numbers, wrongdoings, or punishment, but about helping us examine, make amends, and redirect our lives for the good of ourselves and others.  It opens us to new possibilities. It guides us to becoming whom God created us to be.  It points us to eternal life.  So let’s “Give God an accounting of our management.” What are we doing with our lives?  Who are we serving?  Whom are you hurting?  “We cannot serve God and wealth.”   So let’s not be anxious about earthly things, but love things heavenly.

Thanks for your visit, and please follow my blog and leave a comment.  Thank you!  ¡Gracias!

...at my age, I still find it difficult to understand why peace is so elusive.
Thanks for popping over to my blog, lovely card for your wife! Happy belated WOYWW.
And true peace is only found in Jesus.

I love your postcard colors and words! I enjoyed visiting your blog!!
Hi Arnoldo, love the photo of you two and the card. Happy Wedding Anniversary too. You have been so busy since last week. I hope you get chance to visit France some time in the future. I have only visited a few places in France but Annecy is very interesting as it has a very special lake which is filtered all the way round making the water completely clear. It's often called the Venice of the Alps because of the water that runs through the town. I could go on but will finish there. Happy creating, Angela xXx
I am terribly late visiting, but I really enjoyed all three projects you created. Loved the photo of you and your wife and the attached heart.

For the life of me, I can't understand how war, hate, and ugliness are so much easier for some than peace could be for all. These are all wonderful and I love your hand carved name stamp!

Happy anniversary. And both of your pieces are really lovely. Thanks for joining TIOT.
