Happy Birthday!
I've had one of the most hectic weeks ever! Between work, running my daughter to multiple after-school activities, and a funeral service, I am both physically and emotionally drained. Therefore, my studio has been a true haven in the evenings as I've been working on my cards.
For the CPS 5th Anniversary Day 5 celebration, Laura Williams and My Favorite Things challenged their blog readers to design a card using the CPS #38 layout. It's a straightforward layout, which suggests the use of polka dots on the bottom portion. I found a pseudo polka dot design in my new K & Company Urban Rhapsody pad that I really liked, so I glued it on a piece of ecru colored note card. I wrapped the top with a piece of forest green ribbon. I decorated the tag with a collaged birthday cake that I pieced together with various strips of colored paper. I embellished it with a punched daisy, a pearl, and hand drawn details and calligraphy. My cake was inspired by a similar one in the book Designer Scrapbooks with Dena.
I hope you enjoy my card. I invite you to follow my blog and tell me what you think. Blessings!

I'm so glad you were able to make the time to join us at CPS! I love that dotted paper - it's lots of fun! thanks for playing! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. The colors in the paper complemented the colors in the cake that I assembled. Blessings!
