Nature Collage

Today, during the CPS 5th Anniversary Day 12 celebration, Lisa Silver and Clearsnap challenged their readers to work on CPS #118.  As you may have noticed, I love working on collages.  Therefore, as soon as I saw the sketch this morning, I knew what route I wanted to take.  However, I couldn't make up my mind as to what I wanted to do.  As the day went on, I envisioned different designs.  When I got home from work, and got to play with my stuff, I finally made my mind.

First, I took a small rectangular piece of white card stock and created a collage by overlapping various Martha Stewart Butterfly stamps with Big-and-Juicy and Archival Ink sepia pads.  I pasted down a pressed flower on it.  Then I cut the 3 blocks out of 2 different pages from a K&Company Urban Rhapsody pad.  (All the pieces were edged with the sepia ink pad.)  I layered the elements as per the sketch, but substituted the circular shape with a skeleton leaf and used the left had block to mat my collage.  Finally, instead of the bow, I substituted it with a zig-zag braid that I made with a piece of jute.

I hope you like my card as much as I do.  Keep reading, exploring and creating.  Godspeed!
