K is for Kindred Spirit

Although we are opposites in some regards, my wife and I are kindred spirits.  We are opposites in the way we handle situations. However, we are kindred spirits in that we have similar values and interests.

We are opposite in the following ways:
1- She is easy going - I am a perfectionist.
2- She is naturally social - I have to work at it.
3- She is a conservative dresser - I see dressing as a form of artistic expression.

We are kindred spirits in the following ways:
1- We both love food, mysteries, and antiques.
2- We both put family first and have compatible parenting skills.
3- We both have an intimate relationship with God, our creator, savior and redeemer.

Therefore, although we have our differences, our values and interests are strong enough to make us kindred spirits.  Anyway, I want to thank my followers, as well as everyone who took the time to leave a comment last week.  Blessings!

And just those differences make the attraction a constant factor... obviously Love is the binding key... and yes we all are unique and should not want to change the other and if you succeed in that Love will never go away.

Have a nice ABC-day / – week

ps and I love your Mandala
I can relate to your words Arnoldo and it's interesting to read someone else's thoughts about this type of relationship, I'm not sure you would be so happy if you were exactly the same. Gorgeous photo of Rossy too, what a lovely dog such lovely eyes. Thanks for the visit to mine and have a lovely week my friend over there, so far yet so close. Angela x

Wonderful pages! Nice thoughts on Kindred Spirits. I think it's important to share some things, yet be different in some ways. That way you compliment one another.

Have a great week

great looking art work today. I am starting to get into mandalas recently. Dear daughter told me about an app for my iPad but I have already forgotten the name! Evidently you decide how many sections and you draw one and it applies it to all the other sections. My husband and I are like you and your wife..yin and yang of one another…it works…compliments. It is great. Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a great week. VIckie #4

What a great post!!

My late husband and I:
Opposites
1. My husband was easy going, I'm a perfectionist. But I am getting less so as I get older.
2. He was naturally social, I work at it.
3. He was a conservative dresser, I dress more casually.

Kindred Spirits
1. Food, music, being at/on the water.
2. Family first and compatible parenting skills.
3. Intimate relationship with God.

Sounds like a perfect balance to me! Chrisx 32

What a lovely post, Arnoldo. I was amused to read your differences - I can claim several points on both sides - I am actually a combination of easy going and perfectionist, I love food, am very social, and far from a conservative dresser and agree with you that dressing is a form of artistic expression - this extends to my wheelchair too, and my hair (lots of colours!). I agree 100% of course on your final point - relationship with God is the most important thing of all!

I finally managed to do some art today and joined in WOYWW at the late hour of 10 p.m.! Still, better late than never. My Bible study group is going well even if we are small in number so far. I am loving doing it again - such a blessing to share the Word of God.

Have a great week,

Hi Arnoldo...thank you for sharing such an intimate part of your life with us. How long have you been married? What your wrote could be me & my husband. 18 years and still going strong! I love your "K" artwork...so vibrant and full of passion.
Have a great WOYWW week!

Great description =) Love how you describe it ;)
A lovely post again, Arnoldo! It made me think about the differences and similarities between my husband and I. We totally have the same sense of humour, which helps. And we both leave room for each other to be individuals and not just part of a couple. We're both introverted, though I'm a feeler and he's a thinker. Love your mandala and the scrapbook layout, and what a cute doggie! zsuzsa #24

My husband Ian and I are sometimes poles apart,
but that makes us who, and what we are.... very happy together.
He makes me laugh a lot, he's made me cry over some stupid things.
When I was younger and we had three teenage daughters in the house,
Hormones were flying everywhere, I'm surprised he didn't leave home but we stuck together and live to tell the tale !
I could never have wanted for a more wonderful husband and three amazing daughters, three great sons-in-law and four lovely grandchildren, our lives are blessed.
I thank God for all that I have in life.
Blessings Arnoldo to you and yours and all my friends in ABCW.

What an interesting way to illustrate the letter "K".
Your "opposites" sound more like attributes which complement each other and your common attributes sound like those that matter most.
Thanks for sharing this idea, something to think about.
I very much like your mandala and the words from the Psalm.

Thank you for your return visit, Arnoldo, and I'm glad you like my Zentangle tracings. I did some more today but no photos yet. I am making a pair of identical albums about our recent walk through the woods, one for me and the other for the friends who took us. They will be a nice keepsake of our lovely day out together. Glad to hear your mum is doing so well after her cancer. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers - so much appreciated! The Bible study group is indeed a blessing - we are very small in numbers as yet, but every anticipation for growth in the weeks to come.

I hope you have a great week, too!

Gorgeous artwork, Arnoldo, with a great scripture on it. Sounds like you have a great marriage. Mine lasted 56 years before my dh passed away, and I think part of the success was that he let me be me, even though I'm sure I was a puzzle to him many times.

Arnoldo, I am always so happy to meet a fellow Christian artist. My husband and I are opposites in many ways but we also share the same faith in God and a commitment to living as Jesus would have us live. I paint a lot of still life, but when I work in my art journal, it is usually inspired by scripture. I love the verse you have shared with your artwork. It is very comforting to know that God has the power to help us get right with Him. Have a lovely weekend! -Terri

Having oppositeness (such a word?) makes for stronger kindredness (such another word?), I think. :-)

being kindred spirits in those ways is pretty important, especially when there are other people that can be effected if the couple isn't thinking/believing the same so def a good thing religion matches up with you and the same with parenting styles. not an issue for hubby and me, neither of us is religious or want kids and that works too

Beautiful mandala, photos and words Arnoldo,
It sounds like you have the perfect match for both of you. I would say that my hubby and I are opposites, but after being married for 37 years and producing a beautiful daughter and son it obviously works for us!
Rossy looks adorable too by the way.
Blessings to you and yours

This is beautiful Arnoldo and love what you shared too. We are so blessed of your joining our Challenge at Word Art Wednesday and hope you'll join us again in the new Challenge that started today. Leaving you with the encouragement from God's Word in 2 Timothy 2:10 which says, "For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory." Have a wonderful week.
