God Is With Us

Welcome!  ¡Bienvenidos!  In less than 7 days, it'll be Christmas, and I can't wait.  God willing, my wife and I will be visiting our daughters, their partners, and our 2 grandchildren on Christmas Day.  We can't wait!

Holy Family Christmas Card
Freshly Made Sketches #717 - A Sketch by Narelle
Just Add Ink Challenge #776 - Choose Two or More
For my first project, I have a card I made using an original hand carved stamp on a Speedball Carve Block.  To make it, I designed the graphic piece; sketched it on the block with a pencil; and then carved it with a Speedball carving tool and cutters.  I used an ink pad to transfer the image onto ATC sized pieces of white card stock.  I've made several simple cards with it for family and friends, but decided to use Narelle's sketch for this card.  I also included the tree (branch print), twine, and shimmer (holly print & red rhinestone) from Kim's list.
Sweet Christmas Dreams, Sweet Kitties!
Sunday Postcard Art - Festive Foliage
What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 863/83
Friday Face Off - 12/19/25
For my next project, I have a postcard I made using markers, that was inspired by my 3 female cats; Gris (a Gray Tabby), Rolo (a Tortoiseshell), and Sammy (a Siamese).  I love their sweet faces!  After doodling the cats, I added a festive foliage border and used calligraphy to write my sentiment.  They love me, so they hang out in my art studio/study when I'm working on something.  However, they don't necessarily nap next to each other.  LOL!  The youngest, Gris and Sammy act like siblings, so they are either bickering or loving on each other.  Rolo is much older, so she wants nothing to do with the pesky young ones, so she often retreats elsewhere in the house.
Cole's Fire Pit
Word Art Wednesday - Weeks # 730-733
For my last project, I have a photograph I took during Thanksgiving, when my son-in-law had his fire pit burning for us to sit around.  It was very pleasant, as the weather was chilly, but not too cold.  Using my Procreate app, I incorporated Karen's word art to create this meme.  I had to overlap a regular and an inverted version of the sentiment, so that it would stand out properly.  I love the colors of the flames, and feel the imagery reflects the psalm's message beautifully.
My Sweet Gris
Thursday Art & Dinner Date - White
In closing, I want to leave you with a photograph of Gris, sitting by our Christmas tree.  We rarely ever get snow in Southwest Texas, so a flocked tree is all we get - LOL!  Jokes aside, I wanted to remind you of the words found in Matthew 1:23, “Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means, “God is with us.”

I love the style of your Holy Family stamped card. I have carved many stamps over the years. I need to get some new blocks and do that again.
Peace to you and yours.

Unfortunately I overestimated the state of my recovery and have been struggling with my wound the past few days. Determined to visit everyone this week but just a generic comment to save on the typing, been awake since 4am too - oh Man Hugs BJ#1
Great projects this week. I like your Holy Family stamp very much. I Have tried carving stamps, but I just don’t have the strength in my hands. I have to settle for digital ones! Wishing you a happy Christmas. Angela

First I want to thank you for the lovely prayer you said for me. It truly touch me. I'm so impressed with your art. I have tried the block carving and just can't get it in my head how to do it. Yours is beautiful. I do love Psalm 119: 105 It is so true. Gris is a very good looking cat. I'm thrilled that you will be with family, especially the grand kids for Christmas. Enjoy and make happy memories. Thank you for sharing with FFO and a Merry Christmas with blessings for 2026.
Your linocut is divine ~ so elegant with its beautiful simplicity ~ hugs
