St. Francis de Sales
St. Francis de Sales (1567-1622) was a French man who became the the Roman Catholic Bishop of Calvinist Geneva. He believed that holiness was possible for ordinary people in the world and taught a form of meditation which made use of the imagination. He recommended reading bible passages, envisioning them, and using the intellect to find applications to the present day. I find his teachings very applicable, as I often respond to the Bible through my art and writings. I chose three of his quotes to accompany my work this week.

Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever,

Beautiful tags and an even more beautiful table!
ReplyDeleteHi Arnoldo, I love your version of February 12 tags of 2014, great idea using the globe, I'm a massive Tim Holtz fan and try to do the 12 tags myself, sadly I got round to making 5 last year, shame on me, but this year I'm determined.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining in Rhedd and Rosie's, good luck Hun, Zoe DT xx
I like both tags, and the 'Love' quote. The Australian tag is fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd your beautifully arranged table setting is a work of love and art.
Gorgeous work Arnoldo! xx
ReplyDeleteYou've created such beautiful tags! Fun to look at.
ReplyDeleteQue rica cena para dos, muy romántica! Saludos!
ReplyDeleteArnoldo...You got the vintage globe die cut! It looks fabulous on your tag and I love the sentiment as well! Tim's heart stencil in the background looks great and I love the glittered heart on the globe! I also love your Australia tag. Very "down under". Love the texture of your background and your "Aussie". <3 Candy
ReplyDeleteHi Arnoldo, love this GI Joe tag, so perfect for our challenge at TioT
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
Avril xx
Beautiful artwork as always! But are you saying 1960 is vintage? I was born in 1951. I guess that means I'm way over-the-hill!
ReplyDeleteDelightful detail on your two tags. The textures you have include on both are remarkable. Again your presentation of the artwork is as delightful as the artwork itself - I particularly like the way the background pattern in the second helps to accentuate all the little spots in your tag ( the spots on the embossed background, the little figure's buttons & the little charm/trinket hanging from the top). Your table setting is a real illustration of the peacefulness & love your quotes detail.

What beautiful quotes to accompany your fabulous art work. I especially love the one about it being a blessed joy to love on earth, how true! All the riches in the world cannot compare. Your valentine meal looked very tasty and I love the Australian tag, very innovative use of the die! X
ReplyDeleteExcelente post....
ReplyDeleteCumprimentos
Wow! Another remarkable post! It's always a pleasure to see your stunning artwork and to read your write-up's as well. I always learn something new! I really adore both of these tags and admire how they both have a totally different style. You're a man of many talents and I'm so glad you shared these with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
ReplyDeleteI know that you will have completed these lovely tags in a calm and quiet spirit....from my personal perspective its a joy to see my country showcased so well (love the old stamps you used...I have many the same in my childhood stamp albums)....and thank you for joining us at Opus Gluei in our sweetheart challenge. I hope your Valentines Day dinner was perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove your tags! The first one really spoke to me. I love the way you hand wrote the powerful sentiment. The Aussie Tag is just plain amazing and fun. Never know where inspiration will come from. But your last paragraphs in your post were wonderful for me to read as I am a bit scattered and frazzled these past few days, and helpful to read.
ReplyDeleteYour tags are as beautiful as ever Arnoldo!
ReplyDeleteWonderful artwork!
Wonderful images thank you for sharing. Cheers
ReplyDeleteThree wise sayings!

Unfortunately Valentine was a bit of a damp squibb for me, horrible storm, hospital visit and looking after my Dad, so no romatic dinner for me. However there is always another time. Love the tag with the world and heart. Blessing to you Fracnesca #62
ReplyDeleteWell that's the first time I've seen that globe die in use - and it's lovely Arno - what a great take on the tag!
ReplyDeleteVery nice tag work, I like the overall look of them. Your table looks so nice too.
ReplyDeleteNelle 71 xx
Beautiful post and I love the last quote!! Very Inspiring. I had a GIJoe doll when I was a kid, funny thing I always remembered how it smelled, so plasticky!!!! My Barbie quit dating him because of it and because he had weird hair. Barbie was kinda shallow.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Ginny #74
beautiful and inspired! :)

ReplyDeleteHappy PPF
Beautiful Tags and quotes, St Francis de Sales teachings are so true for us today!
ReplyDeleteYour tags always look awesome! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteLove the pieces and the sentiment behind them. Lately I've been playing around with the idea that everything is as it ought to be, even when it's s**t. I'm sure that's at least somewhat biblical
ReplyDeleteI love the 3-D look of your work! Love the layers and the colors, beautifully done!
