M is for Musing Moments

Greetings!  Yes, I have reverted to bi-weekly posts due to my hectic teaching and postgraduate studies' schedule.  Although its very rewarding, it does take its toll.  Therefore, I truly consider the time I can spend working on my artwork, "musing moments."  Listening to my eclectic collection of music in the background while burning some incense, sets the perfect ambiance for me to work in.  It's a time for me to release all negative energies, meditate, and function through pure intuitiveness.  When I work in this manner, I transcend into an imaginative journey in a world of wonder.  I work with abstractions to become one with my Creator.   In the words of Madeleine L'Engle, "the work takes over," and I listen.

I do like your Halloween card, the skeleton with flowers in his hair, and your photograph of the orange sunflower is so happy and bright.
And of course I love your piece for AJJ, it is a very thoughtful piece and the mauvey pinks and blacks are a perfect combination.

Couldn't agree more. I can switch off shut down and work through a lot of mind clashing stuff while I'm simply playing with my craft stash. Its the greatest therapy.

Hi Arnoldo, thanks for your encouraging words over on my blog. I love that Halloween card, it's a very special place we go to when we lose ourselves in our creative activities. I have recently started to meditate again, it's always hard to keep my mind still but I think it helps creativity blossom.
Enjoy

I don't like Halloween I'm afraid, but the card is fun I suppose.

I am a candle girl rather than incense, but like you it is when I get into a painting or drawing... just the act of getting the paint brush in my hand slows my whole brain to calm... great post and I hope the studies are going well...xx

Pretty pieces. the way you create is how I write. I use music that fits the book I'm working on. When I'm playing with art, though, I like to either turn on a symphony or 1950s music. Creative Blessings! Kelly #42

Oh I think I'm feeling like you at the moment, very overwhelmed by work commitment and need to withdraw - but just a little. Fabulous Hallowe'en card, and love your striking 'Let's Get Arty' submission too. The sunflower is so far different to what we see here in October - nonetheless, sunflowers always make me smile!
Wow! This is certainly very striking and a little bit creepy, just how you intended I guess, wonderfully creative, thank you for sharing this with us in The Male Room
