Let The Children Come To Me

Hola!  ¡Hello!  It's been emotionally difficult for me lately, with everything going on around the world, so I feel blessed for the children in my life at my church, parochial school, and in my family who bring me hope for the future.

My first project was inspired by Sunday Postcard Art "Playtime"  and Word Power.  I remembered all the times my students, my children, and now my grandson have asked to go play outside when we couldn't, for whatever reason.  My response, just like Kanga's, in A.A. Milne's book, The House at Pooh Corner, was, "we'll see."  I recently got the new Spellbinder's Kanga & Roo cutting dies, so felt they were the perfect for this postcard.  I used a black marker to do the lettering.
Next, I'm sharing 1 of 2 Valentine's Day cards I made for my daughters, inspired by CAS#300 FoodSOS566 Love Me Do, and FMS #721 by Jen M.  I used Viviquen's Mexico scrapbook paper and assorted pieces of solid colored cardstock; a We R'Memory Keepers flower border punch; a Spellbinder's Sip Sip Olé cutting dies set; an EK Success Heart Punch; a Sizzix Tim Holtz Vintage Labels Thinlits set; an Arteza calligraphy marker; a black marker; colored pencils; chalk, and assorted adhesives.
For my third project, I want to share a piece I did for Nicole's SITAR 5-Minute Sketch and Sarah's Sarah's WOYWW 869/89.  I used a goat's skull that I keep in my art-studio/home-office as my reference piece.  I got the skull from a friend of mine who's a rancher in town, and have used it in children's art classes that I've had.

My last project is a pencil portrait I did of Liam Conejo Ramos.  He is the 5 year old that was detained by ICE, on January 20, on his way home from school, in Columbia Heights, Minnesota.  In Mark 10:14, Jesus was indignant, when the disciples were speaking sternly to children to keep them from coming to him.  He said, "Let the children come to me; do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs."  I'm devastated, and praying for his safety.

Thank you for your visit!  ¡Gracias por su visita!  Your comments are a blessing, so please leave one.

Shalom,
Arnoldo+
