Labor Day Bliss

Yes, it was truly a bliss to have a little extra time to work in my studio this past weekend, after getting my house chores done.  There were no major projects, but they allowed me to experiment with new media and were fun to work on.  God is good!

Art and Creativity
Mixed Media Tag
Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013 - September
Artists in Blogland - Show & Tell Saturday
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Stamping All Stars
In "Art and Creativity," I got to experiment with different layering techniques to create the background, as well as with Tim Holtz kraft glassine paper and Pearl-Ex powdered pigments.

All Seeing Eye of God
Mixed Media Tag/Frame
Tag Tuesday: Eyes
The Three Muses - Eyes
Word Art Wednesday: Challenge 96
Kristin & Eva's Paint Party Friday Week 26 Year 3
Maria's Orange You Glad It's Friday #54
Lorik's Mandarin Orange Monday #58
Ramona's Inspire Me Monday
In the "All Seeing Eye of God," which was inspired by 2 Chronicles 16:9, I illustrated the eye freehand and designed a freestanding tag/frame that simulates a Church window.

Singin' in the Rain
Collage ATC
Inspiration Avenue - Joy Through Your Art
ABC Wednesday - H is for Top Hats
Try it on Tuesday - 3 Different Fancy Edges
Jen's in the Studio
Manon's Paper Saturdays
In "Singin' in the Rain," I re-purposed an old ATC I made a while back as my background, used a scrap from a Tim Holtz umbrella man die, and got to practice my hand lettering skills.

Innocence
Pen and Ink
Twenty Minute Challenge
Art Journal Journey - Less Is More
Journal Journey's Challenge #23 - Childhood
Jenn's Artist's Playroom #73 - Food
Alexandra's Sunday Sketches
In "Innocence," I got back into the practice of doing timed 20-minute sketches, which I believe help me sharpen my observational skills, develop my fluidity of line, and increase my confidence.

52 Photos Project: Gallery 20 {At the End of the Day}
What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 222
Sandy Steen Bartholomew Challenge #7
Last, but not least, I have 2 photographs of some amazing products on my drafting table, which made the end of day when I received them much more pleasant!   I purchased the products on the left at Simon Says Stamp, with a $50 gift certificate that I won at their Wednesday Challenge blog.  (Well, I spent about $25 more, so that I could receive free shipping. LOL!)  You may have noticed that I used most of the Tim Holtz products to make the art pieces in this week's post.  I won the tangle cards on the right through a challenge hosted by Sandy Steen Bartholomew.  They feature 40 tangle patterns, as well as a puzzle on the back of the 9 info cards.  I can't wait to share them with my gifted and talented students.  Thank you Simon Says and Sandy for your generosity!

In closing, I want to thank everyone who took the time to leave a comment in my last post.  I thoroughly enjoyed them, and made a point to reciprocate with a comment in their blogs.  Blessings!

Thank you for visiting, and for your comment. I love doing the pergamano - I just enjoy putting in the exquisite detail to make the whole look so lovely.
I like the very first picture on your post best of all - the colours and the gentleness of it. Well done.
Have a great week.

I was so delighted when I saw that you were going to receive a set of those tangle cards & congratulations upon the Simon Says win too. That All Seeing Eye of God is amazing with the way it is coloured - let alone the fact that you drew it freehand. It does look like a church window too.

Arnoldo...all of your entries on your blog this week are wonderful! Love the sketched picture of the little girl eating ice cream. That definitely IS a great interpretation of "innocence". The all seeing eye of God is another beautiful piece...love your freehanding art. The collage ATC is really cute and such a great idea and use of the umbrella man's umbrella and Tim's steampunk gentlemen. My favorite piece is the colorful tag using the glassine paper flowers. That background is really pretty and the Perfect Pearls on the glassine really pop the color. Thanks for sharing your art with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. <3 Candy

It is always such a pleasure to peruse your blog! Your background alone sucks me in and makes me want to stay! You've got a great eye for beautiful things (as I'm sure you already know) and I appreciate you sharing such inspiring projects. I simply adore the tag you made with the creativity quote and pen nib. I love the written word and you combined art and words in such a lovely tribute with that tag. Thank you for sharing your skills with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.
