O is for Ominous

We are living through some ominous times around the world.  If it's not a terrorist attack, a mass shooting, or other heinous act of violence, it is politicians (and their supporters) spreading bigotry and racism with their spiteful words.  I've even heard some people fearfully say that these are signs of the end of the world.

Orar (Pray) - Vignette
iPhone 6S Shot
Our Beautiful World: OBW 143 Books
Sue's Image-In-Ing
Denise & Roger ABC Wednesday - Letter O
I don't know what is causing all these evil acts, but I do believe that people need to stop and think about their words, thoughts and deeds, no matter what their beliefs are.

Nature's Bounty - Haiku
iPhone 6s Shot Edited on Pixelmator
Bella's 52 Photo Project - Gallery 50 {Lush}
Ramona's Inspire Me Monday #224
Try It On Tuesday - Spring Mood Board
Kristina's Word Art Wednesday - Challenge #226-227
Haiku My Heart
It is incomprehensible though, since all major world religions, and even atheist and agnostics whom I've met, profess love and peace amongst humanity.

Secretary's Day Gifts - Hand Sanitizer Tag Holder
Tim Holtz Mini Vintage Fan Die & Tissue Tape; Fiskars AdvantEdge Punch, Corner Edger, & Handpunches; Assorted Cardstock; Unibal Air; Sharpies; Memory Makers Mini Stapler; Wire; Jute Twine; Aleene's Tacky Line Roll; and Mini Hand Sanitizer Bottle.
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - April Showers Bring May Flowers
Therefore, all this hatred is coming from humans hiding behind the guise of a "religion" or believe.  No pointing fingers either, because every group has been guilty at one point or another.

Alexandra's Sunday Sketches
Julia's What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #359
Kristin & Evas's Paint Party Friday - Week 7 Year 6
I wish I had an immediate solution to end these ominous times.  I don't, but believe we could begin by following the global golden rule, "treat others as one would like others to treat oneself."  I also believe we all need to keep our faith in humanity that we can one day achieve world peace for the sake of our children and the world at large.  Anyway, thank you for stopping by and for taking the time to leave a thoughtful comment.  Peace - Paz - Shalom!

Thanks for sharing your lovely art and photos.

A thought provoking post indeed. I worry about where this world is headed too and I believe nothing much with change until man widens his circle of compassion to include all living, sentient beings. The atrocities going on in this world are not only humans against humans but also humans against animals and the earth itself. Humankind definitely needs to wake up to itself and make the necessary changes before it is too late. :'(

As I look at history I see that the world has always been a scary place. Always wars and rumors of wars, and every kind of evil. You don't have to look far. God has made a way for peace if only people would see Him and receive Him!

Interesting words and artwork!
Beautiful art and some words to reflect upon! What a wonderful post! Thank you for joining us at Try It On Tuesday! Chrisx
Hi Arnoldo, loving all your Art work today. I fear the bad things that are happening come down to greed not religion, sometimes it's money, sometimes it's land. You and I have little control over this but if each one of us tries to be a good friend to another person every day maybe the peace will spread. Since I retired from teaching I am able to walk my dogs every day. When I first started walking people would look straight forward and pass without speaking but now there are so many that I talk to that the walk takes twice as long, there are still some people to work on but I am getting there! Have a great week and spread the word. Your friend, Angela x

after an ominous day for me.... the last one to visit, befoe turning in, are you...

I'm afraid there are sufficient solutions to solve it...

All we can do is pray for the better, and do the best we can, every moment again and again... to do right to everyone, including ourselves.

Best wishes!!

Have a nice abc-wednesday-day / – week

Religion with science is acceptable, but religion without science based on superstitious beliefs are dangerous I think. And that is causing more harm today. Great read.

Religion always has been used to suppress people. One thing really makes me sad - that we never learn.

Your tags are always so beautiful and I love that photo of the butterfly.
It does seem that the world is becoming a darker and darker place to live because of the acts that humans are carrying out whether in the name of one religion or another or for profit and greed or simply because of ignorance and a disconnect to the part they play in the big machine.
The golden rule is something I have always tried to adhere to. I'm not religious but I am spiritual and truly believe that everything in the universe is connected - humans and all sentient beings. I agree entirely with Serena's comment we need to show compassion to all living creatures not just humans.
"Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace."
-Albert Schweitzer

Your artwork is wonderful, Arnoldo. Your thoughtful words have stirred up some interesting comments. Humans are inherently self-centered beings and it takes real purposeful actions for us to overcome this trait. Most of us do live by the golden rule. It's that minority who want to live by hate that make such a huge difference in the lives of the rest of us.

Beautiful tags and especially love the butterfly.
It's especially appropriate for today being Earth Day.
I'm beginning to stop watching the news reports because it's all so depressing... not to mention worrying. Where it will all end?
I suppose we just have to have faith in the good and we'll manage to get through this somehow.
Thank you for spreading the word and sharing.
We all need to keep positive. Happy PPF and blessings to you

When you look through the generations our forefathers had nothing materialistic but were happy in their own sort of way, as the generations have come there have been more gadgets and technology and we are rich in material things but unhappy in life. Maybe its greed that is making our world so unlivable and unlikable. Food for thought

Love your page & quote, Arnoldo, and the tag assemblages are so fun!
I appreciate that so many spiritual paths have a version of the Golden Rule, and SELF love/acceptance is such an important part of the formula. Living with integrity, shifting self-talk to approval, and rippling out, as Angela mentions about her neighborhood walks!
Frances Moore Lappe, in «Hope's Edge» traveled around the would with her daughter, and found that every child could go to bed with a full belly, but politics and distribution overpower ...

I can't help but believe that God sheds tears of sorrow to see what has become of the people he created in his image. There are times I"m ashamed of the whole human race, but then I realize that most of the people I meet aren't at all like those who are constantly portrayed in the media. On the other hand we seem to have such an appetite for sensational stories that I have a hard time fixing all the blame on the media.

I'm trying to shut my eyes to the ugliness. My husband thinks I'm in denial, but it's the only way I stay sane.

God bless you

So true. We have to pay attention to the children, teach them and make sure they understand that, since they are the next generation that inhabits this poor mistreated planet. Respect is what lets us be together in peace.
