K is for Kindred Spirit

Although we are opposites in some regards, my wife and I are kindred spirits.  We are opposites in the way we handle situations. However, we are kindred spirits in that we have similar values and interests.

1- She is easy going - I am a perfectionist.
2- She is naturally social - I have to work at it.
3- She is a conservative dresser - I see dressing as a form of artistic expression.

1- We both love food, mysteries, and antiques.
2- We both put family first and have compatible parenting skills.

And just those differences make the attraction a constant factor... obviously Love is the binding key... and yes we all are unique and should not want to change the other and if you succeed in that Love will never go away.

I can relate to your words Arnoldo and it's interesting to read someone else's thoughts about this type of relationship, I'm not sure you would be so happy if you were exactly the same. great looking art work today. I am starting to get into mandalas recently. Dear daughter told me about an app for my iPad but I have already forgotten the name! Evidently you decide how many sections and you draw one and it applies it to all the other sections. My husband and I are like you and your wife..yin and yang of one another…it works…compliments. What a lovely post, Arnoldo. I was amused to read your differences - I can claim several points on both sides - I am actually a combination of easy going and perfectionist, I love food, am very social, and far from a conservative dresser and agree with you that dressing is a form of artistic expression - this extends to my wheelchair too, and my hair (lots of colours!). I agree 100% of course on your final point - relationship with God is the most important thing of all!

I finally managed to do some art today and joined in WOYWW at the late hour of 10 p.m.! Still, better late than never. My Bible study group is going well even if we are small in number so far. I am loving doing it again - such a blessing to share the Word of God.

A lovely post again, Arnoldo! It made me think about the differences and similarities between my husband and I. We totally have the same sense of humour, which helps. And we both leave room for each other to be individuals and not just part of a couple. We're both introverted, though I'm a feeler and he's a thinker. My husband Ian and I are sometimes poles apart,
but that makes us who, and what we are.... very happy together.
He makes me laugh a lot, he's made me cry over some stupid things.
When I was younger and we had three teenage daughters in the house,
Hormones were flying everywhere, I'm surprised he didn't leave home but we stuck together and live to tell the tale !
I could never have wanted for a more wonderful husband and three amazing daughters, three great sons-in-law and four lovely grandchildren, our lives are blessed.
I thank God for all that I have in life.

What an interesting way to illustrate the letter "K".
Your "opposites" sound more like attributes which complement each other and your common attributes sound like those that matter most.

Thank you for your return visit, Arnoldo, and I'm glad you like my Zentangle tracings. I did some more today but no photos yet. I am making a pair of identical albums about our recent walk through the woods, one for me and the other for the friends who took us. They will be a nice keepsake of our lovely day out together. Glad to hear your mum is doing so well after her cancer. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers - so much appreciated! The Bible study group is indeed a blessing - we are very small in numbers as yet, but every anticipation for growth in the weeks to come.

Gorgeous artwork, Arnoldo, with a great scripture on it. Sounds like you have a great marriage. Mine lasted 56 years before my dh passed away, and I think part of the success was that he let me be me, even though I'm sure I was a puzzle to him many times.

Arnoldo, I am always so happy to meet a fellow Christian artist. My husband and I are opposites in many ways but we also share the same faith in God and a commitment to living as Jesus would have us live. I paint a lot of still life, but when I work in my art journal, it is usually inspired by scripture. I love the verse you have shared with your artwork. being kindred spirits in those ways is pretty important, especially when there are other people that can be effected if the couple isn't thinking/believing the same so def a good thing religion matches up with you and the same with parenting styles. not an issue for hubby and me, neither of us is religious or want kids and that works too

It sounds like you have the perfect match for both of you. I would say that my hubby and I are opposites, but after being married for 37 years and producing a beautiful daughter and son it obviously works for us!
