Cupid's Banner

Wow!  The CPS 5th Anniversary celebration is already over half way through and I'm still on.  Thank you, dear God!

For Day 9, Deb Felts and The Cat's Pajamas challenged their readers to design a card using sketch CPS #5.  The first thing that came to mind when I saw the sketch were Artist Trading Card's, so I decided to look through my ATC materials and came across the vintage picture of cupid.  I cut out the picture using a pair of Fiskars Deckle scissors and lightly colored it with Prismacolor pencils.  I used an Inkadinkado Dawn Houser script stamp and Stampabilities Antique Key stamp to create a mat for the image, which I outlined with a pink Prismacolor.  Since I was going for a vintage look, I decided to make a banner garland for the bar and row of repetitive shapes in the sketch.  I had designed a plastic banner pattern a while back, so I used it to trace and cut the banners out of a sheet from a DCWV The Four Seasons stack.  On a piece of scrap of paper, I used a set of Limited Edition Cowboy's Ransom Alphabet to stamp the letters L-O-V-E.  I cut them out and glued one to each of the banners.  I wrapped some Regency Baker's Twine 3 times around the card and tied it with a bow.  I attached my banners with some foam strips along the bottom line of twine.

This card was a lot of fun to make, since I love miniatures.  Follow my blog and let me know what you think.  Godspeed!
