Dream

TGIF!  It was a long week, but I praise the Lord for allowing me to work on my artwork everyday.  If I'm not spending time with my family, reading or writing, it is one of my favorite pastimes.

In the CPS 5th Anniversary Day 6 celebration, Latisha Yoast and Sweet n Sassy Stamps challenged the blog readers to design a card using layout CPS #37.  The sketch appeared to be very simple, but it really was tricky blending the 3 plains and the trim.  I love mixing patterns, so I decided to go that route.  I chose a mustard colored note card and embossed the upper left corner with the Fiskars Texture Plates II - Whimsy.  Then, I used my finger to rub some pink pastel on the embossed area to bring out the details.  Next, I covered the bottom and left plains with some paper from my K & Company Urban Rhapsody pad.  I made my trim from a piece of white card stock and the Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch.  I shaded it with the pink pastel and layered it with some orange velvet ribbon.  For the focal point, I made a collage using 3 of my stamps from the Inkadinkado Flourishes set, the Big-and-Juicy vibrant primary rainbow ink pad, and a black ink pad.  I colored in the butterflies with an orange marker and used some Ranger Crackle Accents on them.  I attached it using foam dots.  All the pieces, including the note card, were edged with an orange Color Box ink pad prior to attaching them.

I hope you like my card, and look forward to challenge number 7.  You are invited to follow my blog and let me know what you think.  Blessings!

Thank you for playing along! I love that embossing you did in the corner, very nice!
Thank you, Latisha! I wish the picture showed the chalking that I did better. I guess it's an excuse to buy a professional camera - LOL!
