I can't believe we're already on the CPS 5th Anniversary Day 11 celebration! Although I have felt exhausted sometimes from working all day, I look forward to the evenings, because this experience has been so exhilarating. I definitely love to create!
Today, Jennie Harper and The Stamps of Life challenged their blog readers to use sketch CPS # 170 to design a card. The layout has a prominent focal point, so I decided to take advantage of it to feature one of my drawings. I started with a scrap piece of card stock that had an Inkadinkado Asian inspired stamped image on it, and sketched a stylized girl's face with a pencil. I colored the face using my Bienfang watercolor brush pens. Then, I cut my mat and background trims, and used a Martha Stewart border punch to create the scalloped edge. I assembled the card as per the CPS sketch. In order to add some text, I attached a matching tab to the side of the image and wrote the word "Explore."
I am very pleased with the graphic feel of this card. Please let me know what you think. Your comments are always appreciated - Blessings!
