Love Thy Neighbor
Greetings!  For today's CPS 5th Anniversary Day 8 celebration, Lori Craig and The Cat's Pajama's challenged their readers to design a card using layout CPS #102.  Since the layout features a heart and I went to church this morning, I was inspired to design a Christian theme greeting card.
I chose forest green card stock to make my card base.  Then, I used a Hot of the Press template to make a Scandinavian heart.  I've woven some basic hearts in the past without the need of a pattern, but this template features patterns to make a woven flower and butterfly heart.  Cool, right!  I chalked the butterfly wings, added details with a marker, and backed the heart with card stock to give it some stability.  Next, I had some lined vintage looking card stock on which I used my calligraphic skills to write the Bible verse from Leviticus 19:18.  I layered vintage lace and rick-rack along the bottom edge using Terrifically Tacky Tape.  As an additional embellishment, I glued down two vintage looking green stamps on the left hand top and bottom corners.  I attached the finished text block to the card base.  Finally, I used some foam dots on the back of the heart to attach it between the 2 stamps.
I am very pleased with my design, because it's truly reflective of who I am.  I love to hear your comments, so you are cordially invited to follow my blog and let me know what you think.  Godspeed!
