Courage, Strength, Wisdom

This week, The Play Date Cafe team challenged their readers to use color story PDCC121, which consists of the colors "mojito, peony and sand."  These soothing colors made me think of a prayer, so I felt led to use the following version of the "Serenity" prayer as my inspiration:
Lord, grant me the courage to accept the things I cannot change,
The strength to change the things I can,
And the Wisdom to know the difference.

I began with a 4" x 9.5" cream colored card, and rounded the corners.  Then, I made a background from a sand colored sea shell print from a DCWV The Four Seasons stack.  I used an EK Succes punch to embellish the corners.  I anchored it to the card with a little tape, and then used 4 small silver brads to attach it.  Next, I made a lacy ribbon from a sheet of peony colored toile print from a DCWV Garden Party stack, by using a Martha Stewart border punch.  Finally, I used 3 tags for my focal point.  I made the "Wisdom" tag from another sheet from the Four Seasons stack, by using a tag template from the Fiscars ShapeCutter system.  I made sure to include the "mojito" colored shell in the corner, and finished it by writing the word.  The mojito colored "Strength" die-cut tag came from the Garden Party stack, so all I had to do was write the word.  The "Courage" tag came from a K&Company die-cut handmade set, so all I had to do was write the word as well.  I tied the "mojito" colored ribbon to the "Wisdom" tag, and attached the 2 smaller tags to it with a medium sized silver brad.  Finally, I fanned the tags as shown and secured them with a little tape.  I attached the grouping to the card with foam squares.  (Note - I edged all the pieces with a sienna ink pad by Clearsnap and used a brown Sakura Micron 05 pen for all the writing.)

I truly feel my card evokes a feeling of serenity, so I'm pleased.  I invite you to join my blog, and your comments are always welcome.  Blessings!
