As I mentioned before, I worked as a fashion illustrator for a small chain of stores after I finished my BFA degree. Therefore, I was anxiously awaiting for some time to participate in the Chic Mannequins and Dress Forms challenges that I found during the week. With the color orange, inspired by Carla at Crazy Amigo, and the free dress form template from Craft Artwork, I knew I would have fun!

The first piece is an ATC for the Crazy Amigo Challenge. I used a Crescent chipboard base and covered it with 3 different papers from an Art-C Orange & Gold ephemera pack. I used a small print of the dress form and covered it in Martha Stewart's pewter flocking powder. It turned into a great little textured silhouette. I wrote my text on a K&Company Smash sticky note with a Sakura micron pen. I glued it, as well as the dress form and K&Company die-cut flower bouquet. Then, I tied a piece of orange twine from the Art-C pack. As a finishing touch, I adorned it with a miniature spool and some beaded pins.

The second piece is a bookmark for Craft Artwork. I used a Paperbilities ecru bookmark base and covered with stamped tissue. It's the same technique I used in the Sew Faith tag that I made for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2012 - May challenge. I designed a little vintage dress to hang on the full size dress form. I water colored and shaded the stand parts and flocked the dress form part. I made the dress with 2 papers in different shades of orange from the Art-C pack, but for some reason my camera read it as pink - Ugh! I attached a velvet ribbon band on the bottom, and embellished it with a couple of pins. As a finishing touch, I used a Tim Holtz hanger clip as a topper, and attached a miniature spool and glass bead pendant that I made with a safety pin.

The last piece, but not the least, is a 4"x6" postcard for my art journal to enter in Sunday Postcard Art. (However, because I hadn't had time to work on it and the time difference, I missed the deadline.) I used an orange cardstock base and decorated a medium size dress form as in the last project. However, I decided it looked marvelous in the nude, so I only tied an orange ribbon around its waist. I pasted down some scraps from the Art-C pack for the background, as well as a vintage looking sticker and a banner tag I made. I glued the typed word "beautiful" on the banner. Next, I punctured 3 rows of dots with a Tim Holtz design ruler, and used them to do some beaded stitch lines. I attached my dress form with some foam dots. As a finishing touch, I redesigned one of the flowers in the Art-C pack, by adding a couple of orange buttons to the center.
Designing this orange theme dress form series was a wonderful end of the school year treat for me.
