This week's Card Positioning Systems challenge, Sketch CPS #254, is sponsored by Lil'Inker Designs. I really like the sketch, and it is perfect for using scraps. (That's exactly what I did!) However, due to the art show I'm currently featured in, I hadn't had a chance to work on my card design. Well, I finally started working on it yesterday evening and finished it this afternoon - Whoop!
I began with a pink note card and pasted the 2 yellow blocks. I pasted the botanical print block over the 2 yellow ones. Then, I crimped a tan colored band, pasted it across the 3 blocks, and drew stitching lines on the 4 pieces. Next, I made an ATC for the focal point on a prussian blue piece of card-stock and punched the upper border to simulate a tear sheet. I decorated a wooden heart with a hand painted heart punch and matted it with a text print block. I centered it on the ATC, along with a strip of text featuring the phrase "Love is forever," and drew more stitch lines. Finally, I attached the ATC to the card with dimensional foam dots. As a finishing touch, I made a small slit on the card's spine to thread and wrap a piece of cord around the card. I tied it with a square knot.
I want to thank the CPS team for sharing their creativity with the world. I hope you enjoy the design I came up with by using this sketch, so please let me know what you think. Blessings!
